IM SO JAZZED, about this new unit.
Double Angle Identities was the name of it, and I was actually following along with everything you said at an even pace today. I got how you used to formulas to substitute a new equation in from the old one. Most of the simplification, solving ECT. was quite easy. I will likely be able to complete all my exercises this weekend.

Sum and Difference identites, is what we learned about today. It was all extremely confusing and had long equations that i got lost in almost half way through every time. If i came face to face with a question like the one in our notes i'm am not positive that i could try it, ever.

Today we had a continuatiton on proving identities, and we also learned about extraneous roots. The quote before the notes turned out to be very true.. They make no sense. I get how to solve trig functions, but the identities catch me off guard. Once i am told they are there it make sense, but they are going to be tough to memorize, and i have got to make sure i know all the steps and follow them one by one so i don't fall off track because that is very easily done for me.

Mental math today.. was confusing, but i did alright i guess.
The simplifying techniques that were explained today were extremely confusing. My head hurts. I am going to need to go through some more proofing examples before i even attempt to a question on my own.

Today we had a lesson on trigonometric identities. I understood all the basic identities and why they occured the way they did. In the equation i got how to substitute the values, but i dont get how there can be many different answers. I think it will be easy to do the questions when i have examples to refer back to in my notes.
An identity is an equality that is true for any value of a variable. An equation is an equality that is only true for certain values of a variable.

Yesterday, October.14th, I wrote my test on Transformations, and i bombed. Absoloutley. I did study, with classmates and i attempted my excercises and i thought i understood the practice test, but i guess not. Not looking forward to getting it back, wow.

Today i got my homework checked, and I got half marks for doing half the work myself. I was contempt with the mark, but not quite happy. I do get the chance to get my mark up over the weekend, and i plan to do so. I plan on studying a lot on the break, and putting the social life off A LITTLE, so i can progress in the new transformations unit.

Toady we learned reciprocal functions and i understood how the functions were flipped and how to get a visual of them. Although it is not completely fullproof seeing as i can't use graphmatica outside of class, and do not have a graphing calculator. I think i may have trouble completing all my assignments by friday, but i suer will try,

Today we learned more on transofrmations. I followed along and could understand the basic movements and where the graphs would be after they were transformed, but the formulas confused me a little.

Friday, October 2, 2009

Today we started Transformations. I followed along and listened intently and i found that it was a successful day i learned that when a function slides it will only be left, right, up, or down. I am not so sure i will know how to apply it once i get to my exercise, but i guess i will find out.
